12/24/04 Gglenn Maynard always had sharp looking well prepared cars. I saw him race many times at Trenton, Pocono and Daytona. I was at Daytona when he barrel rolled a Torino down the back stretch. Nagle Ford in East Rochester was a long time sponsor. I believe Maynard worked there as service manager at one time.
07/21/05 3-Wide Yup... I was there too.  I think I was 11 or 12 years old (1971 or 72?)... still ranks as one of the worst flips ever.  It just wouldn't stop rolling.
10/07/05 KNR I am, and always will be one of Maynard's number one fans.  I watched him race from his first days in his Nagle Ford sponsored late model ford, until his very last modified [Troyer Engineering] was built and raced by him.   Nagle Ford was his sponsor until Nagle Ford closed there doors in the late 70s and Maynard was a mechanic there.  Then in 1977or1979, he then formed Troyer Engineering and he sold Troyer Engineering in 2001 [to another modified driver], which is now called Troyer Inc..

Nagle Ford was located on the corners of Monroe Ave and Clover St,on the borders of the towns of Pittsford N.Y and Brighton N.Y and it was not located is east Rochester N.Y.   Plus, many people may not know this but Maynard started and owned his own dry sump oiling system business until it was sold to another modified driver.  Maynard Troyer was not just a great mechanic, he also was a top class chassis designer and builder and he also was a great engineer.  He was a great driver and I won many many track championships in both the Rochester N.Y. area and also in Buffalo N.Y.area.

I have been watching the modifieds and late models etc since august 8th 1955.  That was the year Maynard's home tracked open and its name is Spencer Speedway in Williamson N.Y.   I'll be very proud to be racing at Maynard's home track in the new SST/SK modified class in 2006.

As of October 7th of 2005, Maynard is still alive and doing well.  He enjoys spending his time with his family and hobby which is flying air planes and yes from time to time he will stop in his old shop for a visit with the boys.
01/11/06 Lon In the "comments" section for the Troyer Pinto picture, the person know as "KNR" appears to be making a correction to the previous post, regarding the location of Nagle Ford. Yes,

Nagle Ford was originally located at 2900 Monroe Avenue, at the intersection of Clover Street, where the surburban towns of Brighton and Pittsford meet. This is just south of the city limits of Rochester. Later, the dealership built a new facility, and they moved to Commercial Street in East Rochester, New York. East Rochester is a seperate town unto its own, about 6-7 miles east of the city of Rochester.

Nagle Ford conducted business here for several years before the business went bankrupt. It was at that point that Maynard opened his race shop, originally on Dewey Avenue in the northern part of Rochester, near Lake Ontario. Later on, a new facility was built on Lyell Road, in Gates, New York, several miles west of Rochester. This shop, unfortunately, was recently victim of a serious electrical fire that destroyed a major portion of their building. I'm not sure at this time (Jan. 2006) of their recovery plans, although the scuttlebutt is that they were adequately insured.

The "modified driver" that bought Maynard's dry sump oil pump business (actually his parts inventory) was Webster, New York driver and machine shop owner Tim Mangus. Although recently retired after a fairly sucessful racing career, Tim still operates the pump business under the name "Mangus Precision Pumps".

I apologize for the lengthy e-mail. I tried to just add this to the "Comments" under the photo, but when I "clicked here", as instructed, I got directed to this e-mail page...... Lon Boyer, long time modified racing and Maynard Troyer fan.
