Car #: #44
Driver (s) : Stan Ploski
Location: NOT HARMONY!  (According to Greg Collins and Mike Monnat!)
Date: 1970
Photographer: Unknown
Photo provided by: George Bark
Comments: Thought it was Harmony... as I the photo was sent in listed as Harmony... and I know that Harmony was located on the side of a hill....  The only thing I do know is that I remember Stan driving this car wearing his "All Star Helmet!"

05/30/05 Walter Onora Did not realize Stan Ploski drove this particular modified. Interesting body style parked next to the 44. Also see Deasey's 707 in the background. Who was driving for Paul Deasey at that time??
06/02/05 Greg Collins It doesn't look like Harmony Speedway to me . . . . perhaps others can verify location as to being Harmony or not, but background doesn't fit the Harmony landscape that I recall in 1970.
05/31/05 Mike Monnat I don't think that photo is taken at Harmony. It looks more like the pit area at Five Mile Point.
06/01/05 JOE BOKROS I THINK THIS WAS RIGHT AFTER TAS THE LEFT COZZE 44 . THIS IS THE SEASON I MISSED BECAUSE UNCLE SAM CALLED ME.  I COULD BE WRONG.
06/04/05 John Stover This could be Five Mile Point during their Fall race which wasknown as the Southern Tier 100.  Stan won several of theseraces around 1972-73-74. However, I do not remember him winning in the Cozze #44.
09/14/05 Bill Hanna I agree that this looks like the pit area at Five Mile Point. It is probably the "Southern Tier 100" which was an annual Ploski trip in the fall during the 70's.  This car was driven by Al Tasnady before Stan was in it, and I may be wrong, but I suspect Gerald Chamberlain may have been the pilot of the Deasey 707 in the background. Both Stan and Gerald can claim victories at Five Mile Point during their illustrious careers.
09/10/06 Bigdog13 It is definitely 5 Mile Point. It is the famous race were Ivan Little beat the best in the business after local driver Roger Beagell broke an axle on lap
# 94 of the annual Southern Tier 100. If my mind serves me right, the top 5
had Frankie Schneider, Gerald Chamberlain, Stan Ploski following Ivan who hailed from Ontario, Canada. When quoted at his induction to the DIRT Hall of Fame, he said that this race was the highlight of his career. Ploski had driven te 707 during the regular season at 5MP but showed up in the 44 for this show and Chamberlain was in the 707. I know it is 5MP because I used to hike up that hill on the other side of Route 81 in the background.
05.20.10 dale smith picture of stan is from five mile point
