Comments: I remember this car as being green with a black roof... Wait a minute... green...   combined with the number "13"... guess Jim's not very superstitious!!!  (Wonder if he also ate peanuts by the bag full in the pits?)

07/08/05 Tom Tinsman Jim was one of those guys that wanted to defy the superstition gods. I'm not sure it worked though. One day he brought a scrapbook to work and most of the articles were about him crashing. There was also one sponsor that wanted to put his name on the frame of the car because he thought the car would be upside down more then right side up.

All kidding aside Jim ran pretty good at times. He didn't have a big budget to work with.
07/09/05 Scott Pacich (Under the Radar) Here's one of those cars that brings me back. In the mid-70's I worked at a custom car shop (Jugans Auto Body). One of the guys I worked with for a while was Jim's brother. I can only remember him being called "Doorstop". It's really a small world, and much of it reminds me of some kind of racing...
04/23/06 Dale Tinsman I believe that car was the VASELINE VEGA built and owned by both Jim and Fred Bidwell. Kept and maintained under a garage on top of Riegle Ridge.
06/20/-08 MrRanger31 Is Rick Laubach, from Quakertown, Pa. related to this one? Milford, NJ is not too far from the western Bucks County (Quakertown) area.
