from Wayne: Here is a shot of my brother's small block Modified
(Sportsman) at US-13 Speedway 1977. This was a Tobias car, very simply trailer bar
suspension. This is when they paid a small block bonus. Paul ran with the Modifieds and they ran twin 20's. I remember 10th paid $100.00 in each 20. We used to race at Georgetown Friday nights and Saturday at US-13. Paul average about $500.00 a week take in money. For what we had in car Paul said he never had touch his pay check the car always paid for itself. Try doing that today... My dad took the picture Paul Weaver Sr. |

12/31/05 | Greg Saeger | This car looks like it had a front clip changed. There are pockets on the
firewall above where the front frame rails run from. If this is the case, must have been
done right to make that kind of money every week. Greg Saeger |
