| 01/24/06 | Russ Dodge | Bill Thomas is from Franklinville, N.J. and resides as a near neighbor to
racer Phil Gemenden. His racing career goes back to the days of Alcyon, Pleasantville and
Reading. I believe the last car he raced at Alcyon was an orange 56 Ford which was
originally run as the #2 late model by Frankie Schneider. Most people will remember Billy from running at Reading in his two-toned blue #66 which he hauled in a converted bus.. He later went on to compete at Bridgeport Speedway with the Pinto bodied car. I don't remember the particular car in this photo. Bill alway did his own work, building his own powerful Ford engines. Bill is a very nice guy, intelligent and well read. He always ran is own repair shop, Franklinville Garage and now fills his time traveling and has traveled to parts of the world that others may just dream about. |
