Comments: | For
all of you who get tired of hearing all of us talking about how today's body styles just
don't do it for us... well... here's why. Check out this great looking Vega Modified
driven by Ralph Brown above. This car has it all... In addition to the Vega
shell, check out how well the body fits the car, the paint accents around the openings,
the XL hood scoop, and you just gotta love those drag tires! Ralph's nephew Ron Jon Koczon is one of today's top Modified racers at New Egypt Speedway. |

04/16/06 | Barry Miller | This picture looks like it was from opening day '76, this car was one of
my favorite Vegas. This car was a former Johnny Botz number 2 and Ralph always ran well in
it. I remember this car winning a feature at U.S.13 in 1977during Sryacuse weekend. He and
Ronnie Paulson battled side by side for about half the feature. Ralph was in Ronnie's high
groove and Ronnie was on the bottom and they went at it and Ralph beat him by a couple
feet. It was one of the closest finishes I saw at U.S.13 In the second feature Ronnie
started one spot ahead of Ralph and Ronnie won that feature and Ralph got second. Those were the good old days, fuel injection and drag tires. Too bad those days are gone now. |
