from Andy: Here's a photo of my father Andy Horne in turn 4, Flemington
Rookie Class. The same year Billy Pauch was a rookie. My father pulled in right behind him
so he had to add an "A" next to the #15. The bottom photo is also from the 1974 as the cars were coming onto the speedway for practice. In addition to my father in the #15A, also pictured is Frank Cozze in the #44, Newt Hartman #24. |

06/25//06 | 3-Wide | Andy, was this a former "A" or even "B" car owned by Barry Schenck? It sure does look familiar... especially the hood and those nerf bars. |
06/27/06 | ANDY HORNE | YES IT WAS THE FORMER 'A' CAR DRIVEN BY RICH VERONE. IT WAS ACTUALLY OWNED
BY BARRY SCHENK AND CHARLIE ANCELO. THEY WERE GOOD FRIENDS OF MY DADS. IT WAS THE LAST
SQUARE TUBING FRAMED CAR ALLOWED TO RUN. MY FATHER FLIPPED IT COMING OUT OF THE 4TH TURN
AND CRUSHED THE TOP CORNER. THEY THEN FAILED THE CAR FOR INSPECTION THE FOLLOWING SEASON
BECAUSE OF IT. (THANK GOD) THANK YOU ANDY HORNE |
06/28/06 | Rich Reinhart | Wasn't Frank Cozze a rookie that year as well? |
06/28/06 | 3-Wide | This may sound stupid, (running a website and all...) but I'm not real good with years and stats... but I do remember Frank running this little #44 coupe as a rookie, and I'm pretty sure that was the only year he ran that car. There he is lined up in the same group awaiting warmups as Andy's Dad, so I'd have to agree with you Rich. Were you there the night he rolled the little coupe between 1 & 2 and they flipped it back on his wheels and he drove it back into the pits? Pretty sure they had him ready to go before the green came back out! |
