10/31/06 | Walter Onora | Here's one the regulars in the early seventies. If He had a chance at a "Big Ride", no telling how far He would of went. |
11/02/06 | Mark Yaple | Which guy is Charlie? |
11/14/06 | 3-Wide | From what I'm being told, Charlie may not even be in this picture...
According to Pete Madsen, this car was owned by the guys in the picture who were
from Lambertville, NJ. Still looking for information about this car and about who the driver was... |
11/20/06 | Bob G for Joe Connelly | I asked Joe Connelly about the photo (he didn't see it) but he told me the owner was Cal Peterson who owned a junkyard in Doylestown PA. He also told me Charlie Marty was replaced by Roy Pauch in this car and Roy took it over the turn one fence at Flemington. He said Charlie and Cal Peterson built the car. |
11/27/06 | Pete | Cal Petersen!! That's the name...and yes, they were from Doylestown. I'm
not sure if it's the same guy, but there was a Joe Connoly that hung around at Charlie's
garage in Kingwood. They had a red Chevy drag car named "Rat Motion" in there
for awhile. There was another guy named Billy Bates that John Philkill tells me was Joe's
brother! After my memory was "refreshed", I do remember Roy going out between 1 and 2 at Flemington. I don't remember seeing the car after that. |
