Comments: | Had
a chance to say hello to Glenn at a recent the 2007 Reading Mall show and I asked him the
following question: "Out of all the great modifieds that you drove, with which
car and at what time did you feel that you were the most competitive?" Glenn's response: "That Gremlin got around Flemington pretty good!" We'd have to agree. |

04/09/07 | Lenny | I remember Billy Osmun couldn't get the #3 Mulligan built car to run
around Flemington real well. So Whip (who was retired as a driver) put on a driver suit and took the car out in a heat race and pretty much blew away the field. Case closed. |
04/09/07 | Bill | I would guess the year of this photo is either real late in 1973 or 1974. The Mulligan built # 3 is the car in which Billy won the "Schaefer 100" at the New York State Fairgrounds in 1973, shortly after its' debut. I believe it was the second Mulligan-built gremlin. I think Richard Ege had the first one built, the purple # 9 with Gary Balough as the driver. Maybe Billy had trouble with this car at Flemington, but he did win the "big one" in this mount. My guess is this may be late 1973 judging by the attire won by the crowd in the packed stands. |
