Comments: Here's a great picture of Sam next to the first Gremlin bodied Jim Horton Sr. owned car.  In fact, this may have been one of the first Gremlin bodied cars to appear at Flemington and East Windsor (see photo also on pg 61 of The 70's Section) of this same car prior to the snazzy paint job!

07/11/07 Brian C. Loutrel This was probably taken at the EWS closer in 1972 that I mentioned in my notes to the other photo of the Horton 43 Gremlin.

I was at East Windsor that day, I think this is the first race with the new paint job in October,  he also rolled the car that day. Then again I could be wrong it was a long time ago.

04.12.20 3Wide I remember Sammy rolling the Mustang (I think...?) painted the same as the Gremlin above at East Windsor, and/or think I've seen video of it somewhere maybe?

Joe, Sammy rolled the Gremlin shortly after my father shot this photo.  I know we have a slide of it being towed back into the pits after he rolled it.  I'm not sure, but I think they did repairs and he finished the night in it.

04.13.20 3Wide Thanks for the info Bob, and confirming what Doug had said above.  I really like the pit photos from around this time.  (Any idea who is in the red #22?)

Here is my shot from the last Nazareth race of 72 with Sammy in the Gremlin…
