Comments: | What
a great photo. Great looking racecar. Most in the sport stayed away from
"unlucky green" but this car, with gold wheels and gold pin stripe is really
sharp. But what I like even more about this photo is that it reminds us of a time when most cars were based out of a local repair shop. This photo was taken in front of President's Park Gulf" in Sayreville, NJ, and I'm sure that anyone who ever saw a racecar parked out front of a local shop still remembers it everytime they pass by, even though it maybe some 40 years later.... |

I was looking for my uncle John’s old car and found it
on your site. I remember as a kid traveling to New Jersey one summer to
spend a week. I got to spend some time with both my uncle’s John and Phil at
the garage. They let my cousin Mike and I clean and wax the car for the next
race. I just loved that car, and boy how we had that green paint shimmering
in the sun. I also got to go over to Wall Stadium with John to see him race.
What a blast it was. Don’t remember what place he got in the race but I will
never forget it. Thanks for your site here. |
