If any of you upstate NY folks see Paul Irving roaming around a
speedway somewhere this year, please let him know that he's one hell of a photographer...
Underrated and understated, here's another great photo from Paul that captures the action from an angle that few have seen... In fact, I'm not exactly sure how Paul got into this particular spot to shoot this one as it looks like its from the 3rd turn at the 1/2 mile at Nazareth. You can sense the excitement as Paul captured the cars heading for what looks like a restart... looking into the lights... with the fans looking on... I don't know, but it's definitely worthy of a few goose bumps! |

02.09.09 | Tom Wenner | 3-wide Joe - You did it again with this photo - Man -
AWESOME! AWESOME! - What childhood memories.... This Nazareth photo of the field coming out of 4 is awesome and I want to see if I can get a copy of it for my collection from Paul. |
02.09.09 | 3Wide | Paul a favorite around these parts. He is passionate
about this sport, and has put a lot into this sport and his work reflects a
true understanding of what the sport means to us... You don't get much
posed stuff with Paul... just images of what we remember... walking around
to various places throughout the night... Catching a heat from over here...
then another heat from over there... Then checking out what's going on
in the pits... I wish Paul lived down this way (near New Egypt) because I'd have his stuff featured every night. He's an artist and a gentleman and you don't find them any better than Paul. |
02.10.09 | Jack Kromer | Now THAT is a beautiful photograph. Nice job Paul. |
02.11.09 | The Barz Family | Honestly. I can HEAR the cars when I look at this photo. The relative quiet as they've just moved past your location. Just before the V-8 storm! |
02.13.09 | Rich Reinhart | 99.9% sure that I`m in this picture high up in the 4th turn grandstands. We never missed a race there until I went into the service in 1982. Looks like Johnny Harroll in the 11 moving up to his starting spot as well. |

I think that the 2nd row is Dave Kniesel 711 coach, and Frankie Schnieder,#2 pinto, then Kevin Collins,12 and Sonny Strupp #4 (both gremlins) 5th and 6th, and in the bottom left hand side of the picture is Chris or Chuck Skias 080 mustang. |
