Comments: | A Vault Favorite! Don't even know if I saw this one run, but it looks like all business to me... Interesting front end... some kind of a Valiant body... a huge left rear tire. Yup, all business! |

04.07.09 | Chuck Hassler | Mike Kelly built and drove this car originally. The car was built from plans of a Trostle sprint car stretched by a draftsman at Mack trucks where Mike worked. The frame was only wide enough to run a small block engine so it only competed in the sportsman class. Several other drivers ran this car over the years including Dave Kelly. The owners name was Jacobs. |
09.06.09 | Tom | Mike Kelly HELPED build this car (Jacob #4) and did drive it
for a period. He was not the sole builder of it. It was built in a
garage in Macungie,Pa. by car owners Larry and "Penny" Jacob. It was a
stretched sprint car frame. This car won a bunch of races with Butch Green as the driver. The original owner says Dave Kelly never drove it. IT WAS FAST! The body was a Valiant with an odd extended front roof. It was painted in a combo of yellow and orange with (I believe) a gold #4. This car sits in a garage somewhere in the Emmaus,Pa. area. Tom |
