09.27.09 Paul Madsen The 18 was owned by Gene Gilligan it was also green when it first came out. Thanks for the post of one of my brother's rides.
09.27.09 3Wide Hey Paul, did Gene Gilligan also drive a sedan with the # "Freedom 18" back in the early 70's?  I remember the car but I don't think I have any photos of it and always associated his name with it.
09.28.09  Paul Madsen Hi Joe on page 53a of the vault is a picture of Gene's Freedom 18 sedan.
09.29.09 Tom G I was announcing at Volusia Speedway Park (Florida) a few years back and was talking about the favorable track conditions and how the IMCA style modifieds were reminding me of the great battles waged at Flemington by the likes of Joe Hall, Ray Liss and Pete Madsen in the sportsman division......Then a big bearded gent stepped into the booth and I found myself interviewing Pete Madesen for the fans that night! I've been fortunate enough to enjoy Flemington during its best and through announcing I've been able to get to know the stars up close. Pete was a great driver and a really nice guy as are Joe Hall and Ray Liss.
