Driver (s) : Sonny Parker
Location: Flemington, NJ
Date: 1971 or 72?
Photographer: Don Deese
Photo provided by: Duane Deese
Comments: Comments from Duane:  This is the 7X that was driven by Sonny Parker and raced at East Windsor.  It was one of the very first...and might have been the first Tobias Tube Chassis. I remember my dad, Don Deese going to PA to pick it up and them assembling the kit at Sonny's shop, Parker Trailer Service near Bordentown, (may have actually been in Somerville?)

The first picture is the car being rolled outside for the first time.  The second picture was after it's first night at Windsor.  The pictures were taken by Don Deese and the year was either 1971 or 1972.

11.03.09 3Wide Duane - Any idea what became of the car?  The way the body sits on the frame looks very familiar, but I can't quite place it...
11.03.09 Duane Deese I don't know what happened to the car. I know Sonny didn't race it many times at all. Bob Hoffman might know what happened to it. I do remember there being many visits by Windsor officials while the car was being built because there was no way these "tube" cars could be safe.
11.07.09 Bob Hoffman I do not know what happened to this car. But I do know that Sonny's shop was on route 130 north side were there is now a car repair shop just before Washington Fire house in Robbinsville.
11.07.09 3Wide Bob - Now that you mentioned it, I can see the propane place across the street that's still there.  If I've got it figured right, this picture was taken where what is "Superior Automotive.  What makes that pretty cool is that the guys that own the shop now are also racers.  The dad raced drag cars and son's Jeff and Rich are dirt track racers.
