Comments: Hoop D Doop's #08 Vega...  By the size of that right front tire, looks like Bruce was trying to get this car to turn all by itself.  There's a couple of battle scars on the #08, but this was a really neat looking car, and Bruce was a very steady runner, who returned to the sport a few years back (2005?) and had very strong runs in what else, a black #08 at New Egypt Speedway.

11.08.09 Charlie Miller A few dents , dings, and bangs , but one very nice looking racer. When the coupes and sedans started disappearing , I somewhat complained , but the variety of the late-model bodies more then made up for my disappointment.

I think many of us rooted for underdog Bruce Hooper.  Check the record books, see who finished 2nd to Billy Pauch in almost all of his rookie races at Flemington.

How could you not like a driver who called himself....HOOP D DOOP, and was always sponsored by the PITTSTOWN INN.  His sponsor payment was I believe a case of beer a week.

11.11.16 Paul Madsen Nice guy,I helped Bruce a short time when he ran for Henry Verity.  When I helped him was sponsored by Mt Pleasant deli and Got free hoagies for the nights racing.
