Comments: Gary Balough in the Richard Ege #9, built by Whip Mulligan.  Although I think Gary drove the #9 coupe on a limited basis prior to this car, to me, this is the car that made Gary known throughout the Northeast Dirt Tracks that things were about to get different...  Not only was Gary fast in this car, but I would describe his driving style as "Un-intimidated"...  If he could get the win cleanly he would... and if that wouldn't work, Gary would find a way by.

All of this was at a time when the established "sheriff's" such as Ploski, Beavers, Osmun, etc..., weren't looking for anyone else to come riding into town.

Gary's winning in the "pink" car above picked up even more when the car was purchased by Anthony Ferraiuolo and repainted maroon and white, and renumbered to #73.  Gary of would go on to win at many other tracks and would also become the talk of Syracuse in years to follow...

11.08.09 Charlie Miller You know there's not a lot of Gremlin body parts on this fine racer , but DAMN, don't she look cool ,even covered in mud ! Gotta love those plaid pants behind the fence (had a pair myself), but wouldn't be caught dead in them now .
11.10.09 Kevin Budden I can just about guarantee I'm glued to that fence somewhere waiting to cross over into the pits and get autographs on my jacket!
11.21.09 COOKIE MORRIS I THINK ALL VICTORY LANE SHOTS SHOULD BE DONE WITH THE DRIVER IN THE CAR WITH THE FLAG HANGING OUT THE SIDE.
11.21.09 3Wide It is a great shot...  Maybe we should try a few at New Egypt Speedway this year...
08.19.10 Butch Rogers I have seen this smile many times in south Florida when Gary won in such cars as #237 or #84 he was one smart driver he knew how to win.

Just a shame he got put away at the peak of his life as a driver.
04.27.11 CHIP This is the Car that got Gary on the map in the north east. I know that he won 9 feature at Middletown in 73",  I heard he won about a total of 20 in Pa, NJ and NY that year.
