| Comments: | This is exactly where I used to sit back in the 70's. As I got a little older, I moved a little closer to the starter stand to try to lose a little of the dust, but this was an excellent view of the cars coming and going! Check out the full pits, the fuel truck, the pace car...have a friend throw a little dust at you and you'll feel just like you're sittin' there! Thanks for such a great picture. |

| 01/21/05 | Mark Flamisch | This can't be from '86, though, because the new DIRT 'wide' bodies that most of the cars are using weren't around that early. It would have to be '88 since Billy Pauch is still in the #126 in the first shot and he was in the Barker Bus #76 by 1989. I'd guess these shots are from the Memorial Day Syracuse qualifier from '88 since it appears to be a bright sunny day, (and not a gray November day for the 200) and I believe Jack Johnson won that particular show in May of '88. |
