11/27/02 John Mc I believe the 104 was owned by Pete Peters from Manville, and was driven by Fran Callery
12/02/02 Anonymous The driver of the #104 is Fran Callery
12/03/02 Jim Brown Fran Callery is the driver of the 104, a car he built himself.    I believe his cars were called Calcraft race cars.  The 104 was owned by Pete Peters.  Before this car, Pete owned the red white & blue #x4 that had front fenders on it, ( a weird looking creation that ran in the modified division at the square).
12/26/02 Doug ANY CHANCE THIS CAR IS STILL AROUND?   I WOULD BE INTERESTED IN PURCHASING THIS CAR!!!  (contact Doug through 3wide@optonline,net )
12/12/05 Mark Nipps This car was kept in my hometown of Manville.  Pete Peters garage was where my father would take me when I was growing up.  Pete Peters is a long time legend going back to the 50's not only with modifieds but with midgets also as my father attended races with him at Morristown, Harmony, Middletown & Flemington.

This particular car was originally the red, white & blue #X4 that Pete referred to as "The Whale".  I can also remember one night during the fair Pete approaching Glenn Fitzcharles to take this car out for "hot laps" and Glenn coming in and telling Pete that the car had to much motor!

This car was a total home built effort with Pete doing the chassis and body work and Pete's son-in-law doing the motor for this car. Pete was one of the un-sung hero's of Flemington speedway who didn't always get his car into the feature every week, but was always back to give it another try the following week!

12/28/2005 FRAN CALLERY PETE WAS A JOY TO DRIVE FOR. THE TWO YEARS I DROVE FOR HIM, I COULD WRITE A BOOK OF GREAT STORIES!  I LOST TOUCH WITH PETE, ANY INFO?
04/07/06 Mark I was looking at the pictures on the 80's page 5a and noticed that Fran Callery was looking for info on Pete Peters.  If you have any way to contact him you could let him know that Pete and his wife both passed away years ago (unsure of the years) but I do know that it was after Flemington was paved (Oct 1990) as I remember that Pete went with us to the 1st event on asphalt. You could also let him know that Pete's son-in-law, who did the motor work on the car, George Fender & Pete's daughter could be found in Manville living in Pete's old house. They could also be located in downtown Somerville, NJ on Friday nights with their old Chevelle. Hopefully this info was helpful & see you at the races!
