Comments: From as far back, I can always remember the blue #5 being Hemi powered and I wasn't sure if this was a tradition that had lasted the test of time, or like many traditions had been lost.   I asked Wayne if he knew if the #5 was always Hemi powered and his response is posted below.  Thanks for providing the picture and the information.

12/12/03 Wayne Weaver Mr. Brennen always ran Hemi's.  The motor in this car was built by the legendary Keith Black from California and the car really produced some horse power.  I also drove for a team from Delaware that only ran Hemi's.     Dave and Alfred Parker owned the car was (#100).    At one point back in the mid 80's, I ran the Parker Hemi on Friday at Georgetown Speedway Saturday night at US13 and the Brennen Hemi at Bridgeport.    I think these were the only two Hemi powered Modifieds on the entire East Coast and was driving both of them.  The Parkers and Mr. Brennen were good friends and helped each other out for parts.
11/15/07 Scott Colvin I remember Billy Brennen coming to Georgetown Speedway and kicking butt with that car. Al Parker I believe fielded 2 cars in the 70's. The 100 Grotto Pizza machine driven by Hal Browning (most of the time) and the number 98 Conaway Motors car Driven by I think Jerry West. We nicknamed Al Parker's Hemi # 100 the "Bumble Bee" do to the very unique sound it made. Billy Brennen's never sounded quite the same. I don't remember who was in the car at Georgetown that Friday it might have been Wayne Weaver or Little Mel at that time, but whichever was driving, the bumble bee detonated going down the backstretch and was not able to be repaired and so ended the life of the bumble bee (moment of silence). If anyone has pictures of the old Grotto Pizza machine please post them, or any other pictures of racing in Delaware back in the late 70's and into the 80's.
