Comments: Really interesting view of the #616 and #74 heading down the backstretch at Flemington Speedway.  I'm guessing that Ace must have been standing on a ladder to get this one.  Ron was a steady runner and as far as I know, always drove the #616...   Although Ron's car looks a lot like a Grant King car, we're pretty sure that it might have been the former #121 instead.  (Kenny's #74 was definitely a King car.)

12.04.11 Jim Hannagan That's Pauch in the 616 he got it back for that 100 lap race when his car blew up!  I was there. He was going by all the mods till it blew up.
12.04.11 3-Wide Not sure what you mean by "got it back"...  Was this the former #121 that he drove around 1980?  If that's definitely Pauch in the #616 in this shot, maybe I'll need to move it to the Pauch Page.
12.11.11 Spilly I'm not sure if this picture is from the night I'm thinking about, but Billy Pauch did drive this car in the 1982 Syracuse Qualifier at Flemington. I was there that night. His regular ride (It may have been the "L" Car?) broke in warm ups or the heat race, and he jumped in the 616. I remember seeing Pauch's crew swarm over the 616, swapping tires, shocks, etc. from Billy's car. He ran good in the heat, and was on the move in the feature until mechanical issues sidelined him.

Since this car was originally a Scamardella #121 that Billy drove, I'm sure
he was very comfortable in it.

Another thing that comes to mind is the white colored wheels, which I believe were what Pauch's primary car had that night. I think Ron's car had silver wheels with this paint job.

Stashek had a gold uniform and a helmet with checkered looking tape on it as well, so that may be another clue.

That's all I can dig up from memories of almost 30 years ago...
05.17.12 Eric Tuckey Yes I remember Billy needing to use Ronnie's car one time, this is true. I was young sitting in the stands with my cousins, my dad Bob Tuckey was a mechanic for Ronnie for a long time and my dad came into the stands that night n I was such a big Pauch fan I was totally entertained by this.
