Comments: Comment:  Well... there were'nt any "new coupes" being built in the early 80's that I know of with the exception of maybe Dave Spurlin's blue and gold #42, so I'm guessing that the bad azz looking #129 coupe of Mike Lorenzi above might have raced under a different color and or # combination - maybe?  It looks a little like a Scott Kania coupe with the back up high, but I'm pretty sure that Scott's coupe was smaller than this by the time he was done with it.  Hopefully you guys can tell us if this one ever roamed the speedway in an previous version.

The body and chassis were married together in the Lorenzi race shop. I don’t know where either came from but they saw on track action before they became the 129 sportsman that Mike launched violently over the third turn fence at Flemington. I lettered the car and it was ridiculously difficult to get in and out of. This car didn’t last long enough to mark he paint before it was junk. – Tom Gray
