The owner/driver was Ed Strada from Hamlin,Pa. He drove the last sedan body car at Syracuse, the year was 1980. The engine was a 302 Ford built buy Precision Engines in Middletown NY. I think Ed finished 13th in the small block race. Ed won many features at Mok-e-Tek, Penn-Cann, Accord,Herb Harvey and won a feature at Orange County.

In 1976, Ed ran a couple of weeks at Orange County, one of those nights he went over the rail in turn 1 almost out to Wismer Ave. He was ok, but the 1e was not so lucky. He rebuilt and came back better than ever at Accord, Penn Cann, Herb Harvey and Mok e Tek.

Later that year, another beautiful sedan appeared with the number 1L. It was driven by Lynn Highouse from Honesdale Pa. They combined for many features at Accord that year. Lynn went on driving his own car to championships at 5 mile and Penn Cann. Ed, Lynn and crew never missed a chance to celebrate after the races, they made friends at most bars between Accord and Hamlin Pa!  Ed is no longer with us, but he was as good a driver on dirt as anyone!

One of my all-time favorites, can't ever forget while sitting in first turn bleachers at Middletown, seeing him pole-vault out onto Wisner Ave.  Just couldn't believe it.
