Comments: | The name Ricky Rutt should be pretty familiar to the
visitor's of the Vault. Ricky is a big contributor to our site and also was involved
in the winning efforts of 2003 NES Rookie Champion Scott Merritt. As you can see,
Ricky also campaigned the #P67 at Flemington back in the late 70's or early 80's. I
can still remember the night that Bill Singer mentioned that Ricky was looking for a place
to keep and work on his car and asking my dad if we could offer up our 24' X 28' detached
family garage in South Brunswick! Rick is from the Phillipsburg, NJ area (Harmony
Country!), so I don't think it would have worked out anyway... Kinda sure this picture was from the early 80's, but I think that might be Ronnie Guinther's #33 in the background and if that's the case, I don't know if that car made it to the 80's... |

06/01/04 | Ricky Rutt | That's a great picture of the P67. Though I'm not the driver. This shot was taken during the powder puff race in 80 or 81. The driver was Lynn Langston, my girlfriend at the time. In the late 70's she drove my red no. 2a coupes in powder puff races. The other car in the picture is the 8T of Skip Turyonis(don't know if I spelled that correctly) and was driven in the powder puff races by Tammy Desmond. In 1980 I believe Tammy won and Lynn was second. In 1981 Tammy tangled with another car and flipped in the first turn. I remember holding my breath as Lynn drove right underneath the car while it was in the air. Some one has a picture of it somewhere. The 8T was destroyed. Lynn finished second. Idon't remember who won. |
06/01/04 | 3-Wide | Thanks for the correct info Ricky. (I forgot about Skip Turyonas in the blue #8T...wordering if it was the former #33 of Ronnie Guinther...) Whatever happenned to this #P67? |
06/08/04 | Ricky Rutt | I sold this car in the spring of 82. I can't remember the guy's name, but he was friends with Corcoran (Sportsman #357). He painted it lite blue w/ a gold frame and raced it in the rookie division that year. If I remember he didn't do that bad with it. |
07/31/04 | Rick Shive | It may have been Kenny Allgier (#44 ?),he ran rookies with my brother Randy in "82. |
02/26/06 | Tim Fritts | Ricky bought the P67 from my step-father, George Forsythe, who ran the blue # 562 in the later '70s The P was for my mom "Priscilla" and the 67 was their birth months. I use to sit in the car when I was a kid and pretend to race. Years later I met up with Ricky at Jersey Formula Racing and followed him to Phillipsburg to see a racecar he was selling..... it turned out to be the 'ol P67 |
