Comments: | Comment from Barry: This car was the fromer
#66 sportsman of Rick Sendzik. My father, Stan Hulse, bought this car from Rick as my High
School graduation present in June of 1979. I raced the remainder of the '79
season in the car just the way we bought it from him. I finally qualified
through the consi on the last night of the season, and my father wouldn't let me run the
feature. He put Rick back in the car. The following winter, we entirely rebuilt the car, and from April of 1980 through early June of 1983 I qualified every night but one for the Sportsman feature. The one night I didn't, the motor blew up in practice. We totaled the car out the last night I raced in 1983, and my father just was out of money. He contracted liver cancer in late 1984, and died on his 52nd birthday in May of 1985. Tom O'Rorke then asked me to be a technical inspector after his death, and I remained there through the 1990 season. |
