Comments: Not sure who was behind the wheel of the Burket #27 on this day....  Really a neat photo how it captures that subtle slide needed to make it between turn 1 & turn 2 at Flemington... Thanks Dave Pratt (photographer) and thanks to Todd for providing it.

06/27/05 Walter Onora Could it possibly be Chip Slocum??
06/29/05 Todd Lewis Negative there Walt.   Joe is right it is Don Manning filling in for Joe Zuczek at a regular Sat. night show . Chip drove this car at the Pepsi Small Block shows.  (Photo from 1989)
10/16/05 Palmco I am pretty sure this is the car that was stretched for Gene Stravinsky.
01/28/07 Robo13070 If this car was stretched for Gene Stravinsky, then it is the S & S car that Chip Slocum ran and won a championship with at East Windsor.
02/13/07 Todd Lewis This was an 88 S&S chassis powered by a Dornberger and it was run in 88 by Scott Pursell prior to his split with Bob Burket.  Don Manning was picked to fill the seat after that.  In 1989, Joe Zuczek ran this car at Flemington (except for this night).  Steve Makocy began the year at EWS but his health issues forced him to step aside.  Manning, Zuczek and Slocum all saw time in the car.

At the end of the year the car was sold and Bob purchased the # 86 Tabloid Graphics lightweight. So in a nutshell this car DID NOT win a championship (But Bob Burket has two as an owner.)
