Comments: There were a lot of strange things about the 80's.... Punk Rock... Really bad hair... Hansen... (oops... they were in the 90's...), but one thing that wasn't weird was this absolutely beautiful sportsman fabricated and driven by Bob Rindgen.

I'm told that the body was pretty beat up by the time Bob got a hold of it.  It was a former Dave Durkash (sp?) black #DD with quite a few bumps and bruises on it that definitely needed more than a little TLC...  Not real sure about the business end of things as far as the chassis goes, but I can tell you that the paint scheme on this car was one of the all time best.

Now if you've got a show stopper like the #19 above, you need something out of the norm to tow it with right?  We'll, according to many of you who responded to this photo as part of our trivia question for 1/22/05, Bob had a tow vehicle that had Mustang taillights molded into the back of it to add to the overall "Mustang" look and feel of the entire package!

02/04/06 Rich down South I find it nice to see HAPI Auto parts on the hood. If I'm not mistaken, Rick Nunn of Hillsborough owned HAPI Auto Parts. My dad passed away in 95 and was a very good friend of Rick's. I don't know if Rick surfs this page, but if he does....."Rick, this is Rich, Al P's son. I'm living in Atlanta. Post the message board and let me know your out there"

BTW, great picture

02/04/06 Todd Lewis Bob's last 404 was run at NES and was a Troyer formerly owned by John Leach.

Rindgen's #19 pictured was his ARC Enterprises (Don Church Neshanic Station) car.  Church built at least a dozen of them from the late 70's to early 80's.  One nite at Flemington there were 5 of them parked side by side in the Sportsman pits!
