Comments: | How
about one for the underdog? Doug continues to represent what many of us like about
this sport... Lacking the big dollar sponsorship that clearly became the way to
survive the 80's and the 90's, Doug and his familiar purple #29 continues to represent
what attracted a lot of us to this sport in the first place... where success isn't
measured by the amount of trophies in the case, but by surviving through all the changes
that this sport has seen in the last 25 years... And by still having a racecar to wench up the trailer every Saturday afternoon, with the hope that maybe tonight is the night.... |

06/03/06 | Walter Onora | Well, It's about time!! Doug has been at it a long time, with hardly any
fanfare. Originally from Staten Island, Doug remains dedicated to this sport! Whether, it
was Flemiington or East Windsor, Doug was there. Although, We went to the same high school, I do not know Doug personally, Whenever I attended Flemington or East Windsor (more recently New Egypt) I do cheer for him. Have not been to New Egpyt in quite a while, but still check the standings via the website every Sunday morning to see what's going on. Always look for Doug to see if he qualified or not! Hey Doug, keep on truckiing as long as you are able!!! |
