Here is a photo taken at Flemington in 1982 by Ace Lane, Jr. for the program cover. Carmen Scarpati was my father's driver at Flemington. However, on this night Carmen was late to the track, so we got the photo, but never did make the program cover.

My Father, Fred Hahn, Jr. raced the car Friday nights at East Windsor, but after a few back surgeries, Carmen began driving the car full-time. Best race my father ever had was after crashing into the first turn wall at Windsor, they repaired the car, and bent front axle and all he went on and won a B-Main over the late Chuck Carberry by almost a full straightway.  Another time my father finished third to Billy Pauch and Doug Hoffman in a heat after leading them for a few laps.

Best memory of Carmen was the first night he asked to drive my father's car at Flemington midway through the '81 season.  Carmen went out and won his heat race, then ran in the top-three for most of a 100-lap Sportsman feature. Carmen was a great driver, never pushing the equipment, as the oil-pressure light came on during that same 100-lapper, and Carmen immediately pulled the car in.

Carmen would always try and run Modifieds, sometime with some success, like qualifying for the '83 Nazareth Nat'l Modified event. Sometimes Carmen would reverse the car number, changing it to his old #D2 went the car had new sheet metal, or the sheet metal was removed for RWYB shows at Flemington and Bridgeport.
