| Comments: | I don't know all the details of Doug's early career, but from you guys I've learned that he ran a 57 Chevy at Dorney Park.... and I'm thinking that this was one of his earlier sportsman cars with what looks like a Chevette body... (not sure about the roof...) with "Budd Olsen "BOSS" on the quarter. Nice metal work on the tire rack too! |

believe this is the very first dirt sportsman car Doug started his fabulous
dirt tracking career with. That would be 1980 and my first time ever hearing
the name Doug Hoffman at Bridgeport. Right from the get go he was a stout competitor in the sbm ranks. I do not need to say were things went from there as most are aware of his stats in the modified world today. I will say that it took time for me personally to appreciate his talent behind the wheel, only because he was hard to beat when our team raced against him back then. Naturally I did not want him to win then but he sure did. |
