Newt Hartman drove this Dom Ragno/Barry Schenck #A car. Newt
has an unbelievable resume when it comes to small block racing, but this
might be the only car that Newt scored a big block win with. Pretty
sure that Dom (Ragno) provided the power on this one, while Barry (Schenck)
took care of the rest. In the background you'll see the cars of Lew Hahn, Ed McVay, Ray Kozimor and Chuck Jones (I think) in the yellow #28. Sadly, Ed McVay lost his life at the speedway during the 1981 season. |

12.26.09 | Dom Ragno | Yes Joe these cars were powered by my motors that were built by J - J BALANCERS OUT OF PATTERSON NJ (JOHN BOLLANDER) THEY WERE ALMOST BULLET PROOF. |
12.30.09 | Walter Onora | Newt was one of the top small block drivers in the
Flemington-East Windsor circuit. Paul Fitzcharles might of been driving the
Chuck Jones "28" around that time. I was at Flemington the night Ed McVay was killed. Indeed a sad night. Remember that night like it happened last night. Unforgettable! |
