Hendrickson Z-1 battles it out with Jamie Mills (the original driver of the Avenger2
before Wade got behind the wheel of that car himself.) Great action shot with the sail panels flying high at East Windsor |

04/04/03 | Todd L | Wade is still fast in the A2 but I think the # Z1 that Wade and his Legendary father Lee made famous has been retired by the family. I noticed the 303 in this shot too. I think Fred often raced against Lee Hendrickson and here he is racing Wade (I wonder how many fathers and sons the 303 has raced against). |
04/19/03 | Todd L | Recently at Bridgeport Wade debuted a URC sprinter carrying the family # Z1 he won his heat too. |
04/20/03 | Todd J | That z1 looks to be one of the family built cars and the z1 was spotted once again. Wade qualified for a URC event at Bridgeport last weekend.... Grosso Trucking is on the A2, I think this was before Ricky came out with the R24's? |
04/22/03 | Todd L | Correct Todd I believe Wally Peterson and Ricky were partners at first and then they went their separate ways, with Jr. buying his R24's and Wally continuing with Wade replacing Jamie Mills. I also think this could be Wade's Olsen chassis which he ran for a while before slipping in to the Avenger 2 |
03/17/05 | James ONeill | That was the first car that Rick Grosso Jr. was
involved with in racing. He and Wally from Atlantic Hardwood's owned that car together.
Also, R&S Colonial Builders is on the front quarter panel, wich was the former
name of Rick Grosso Sr.'s custom home business that eventually became R&R Land
Developers. That was a super pretty car. There is a picture at Rich D'Signs of that car fresh from lettering that is real sweet. Been a while since I seen a photo of that mount. Good Job digging that one up. |
