|Comments:||Comments provided by Fred: Karl Freyer burst upon the modified scene at Flemington and for a short while, was one of the hottest drivers every Saturday night. He is now one of my closest neighbors here in Ringoes, NJ. Living just across Rt.31 from me|

|03/25/04||Glenn Grafton||Karl always ran well at Flemington. His car had an unusual setup running a "big" small block with an automatic transmission (power glide?).|
|03/26/04||3-Wide||Hey Glenn - Remember the days of the small block and carburetor bonus?|
|04/09/04||Todd Lewis||I remember those days and I seem to remember Karl in his later years running a car with the # 4 on the left rear quarter instead of the door panel like more conventional styles.|
|06/14/04||Skip McPherson||He could run sideways with the best of them...|
That Power glide tranny sat in the window at Newton Speed, 1 day I noticed it was gone, I asked Artie where it went, he told me and I forgot all about it, until saw Karl run with it, I was awed, then there was the night when I was sitting in turn #3 and he came around with his floor board on the ground , wide open in to the wall, I went right home and made a way to mount my go pedal in my as then, unfinished chassis , so that that could never happen. I rooted for him a lot, particularly after realizing he ran a SBC engine.
All of Karl's motors and trans can straight from the junkyard!! I worked with him for many years, and he rebuilt everything !! He may have had some machine work done by Feil, but everything was someone's junk. Believe it!!! That makes his runs, that much special !!
