Comments: Comments provided by Fred:  Kenny Brenn Jr. takes his Grant King modified out onto the track surface for battle in a heat race.   I loved the color scheme of this particular car.  And it goes without saying that the Grant King machine was nothing if not beautiful and super fast!!

01/26/06 Spenser and Cody Brenn This is Cody and Spenser Brenn, just checking out the internet looking around and we are happy that we got to see that our father is on the computer. Keep putting more sick a** pictures of him up!! We have some more pictures too, email me back if you are interested.
1/27/06 3-Wide What else can be said...   Ken is one of the best ever and notice that I say "is" one of the best instead of "was" because I think like many, we'd love to see him out there again!

Did you ever watch Kenny's arms when he drove a racecar?  He always looked real relaxed... didn't look like he had to put in much effort... and I think that frustrated a lot of fans who maybe felt that a lot of Ken's success was due to having superior equipment.

In fact, I think some fans didn't want to see the #24 win because sometimes he made it look too easy!  It was kinda like the Dire Straights video where the guys are moving the boxes saying, "That aint working... that's the way you do it... you play the guitar on the MTV..."  I think some fans resented that Kenny's cars were always so well appearing and so well prepared.  (Can't remember too many nights when the Brenn #24 pulled in smoking or had a DNF due to mechanical failure...)

Could you imagine if instead of having those gorgeous yellow #24's, Ken had replaced the bodies with some primered grey shell with duct tape for numbers.....  My suspicion is that Kenny would have still finished up front.  The only difference would have been people saying "Holy S**t, Look at that guy driving the wheels off that old thing!"

Well... there's no doubt that Ken had very good equipment to work with during his career.   His cars were always best appearing, fast and handled great.  But here's something a lot of people didn't know:  Ken was the one who set up and maintained those pretty cars for quite a few years.  So whether the credit needs to go to the him for setting them up... or for getting behind the wheel, in my book, it is he who deserves the credit.

And here's another thing to think about....  How many guys have us oldtimers seen show up with a boatload of money... a fancy tricked out racecar... and all the other goodies that go along with it.... and barely qualify!  (No names needed....!)

Dirt, asphalt, simply one of the all time best, Ken Brenn Jr.
