Comments: Comments provided by Fred:  I could be wrong, but I think it was the Mataka Bros. that kept the 3N1 sprinter in tip top shape and ready for action.  Billy Pauch was early in his racing career when asked to take the car into action during a stop by the USAC sprinters at Flemington.

03/27/04 3-Wide In addition to the story about Mario winning 3 races in a Mateka owned car in 1 day, I recently found an old Ace Lane picture with Jimmy McGuire behind the wheel of a #3N1 that looked like it was from the mid to late 60's.
04/03/04 BOB VICHIOLI I think the picture is from the summer of 1982.  I was there for the usac sprint race - I  was only 18 years old.  Doug Wolfgang won in the Stanton #75.  Don't remember how Billy did but I loved the show!
07/12/04 Dan Mecco Fred Your absolutely correct about the MATAKA Brothers taking care of this car --- I totally remember it being in their shop on Rt 22/78 in New Jersey.  It was well maintained and always in top shape.
01.11.11 Ryan Just thought I would comment on this photo. I work next to race weld on route 22 in lebanon NJ and Ed the owner took me through the shop he still has most of the cars and motors in the shop and the truck and trailer. You could spend all day in that place just looking at all the stuff he has in their. I swear he never sold anything

Thanks
Ryan
04.15.11 Kyle Kania my father grew up on blossom hill rd in Lebanon, 2 min from race weld.... was driving on 78 the other day and noticed the yellow 3n1 trailer sitting behind the shop. i have never noticed it there before, but im not usually a passenger so i was looking extra good. is that the same car that was at SDW the other year with airbag suspension?
