| Comments: | Comment from Fred: Two words - Flemington legend. "Stan The Man" Ploski was one of the greats that made it so darned great to be in the stands when I was growing up! Stan's style was never duplicated and he was one whale of a driver in his prime. Here he granted me a few moments for a photo opportunity. I now see Stan every once in a while at the deli just down the road. |

true-blue Ploski fans and we'll always be true-blue Ploski fans. My Dad started following
Stan back in the mid/ late 60's during the Reading / Nazareth days and we've never
followed anybody else all the way til Stan's retirement in the 90's. We've had every piece of memorabilia that Barb Pursell could carry at the Stan Ploski Fan Club throughout the years behind the main grandstands of Flemington. I remember between heats/ features, we would always visit Barb and she would give us the low-down on how Stan was running or what she found out after running into the pits. There's not enough space on this site for me to explain how we feel about Stan but I can only say this....If a monument is ever built on the property to commemorate the former Flemington Fairgrounds Speedway, Stan's face will be on it !! Unquestionably, without-a-doubt, indisputably the greatest that ever lived !!! And YES he will get it done ! when he's back in the seat ! I got a feeling it's only a matter of time ! |
