Comments: | Comment from Russ: I was just starting school when this photo was taken. I remembered the name later from hearing it on the radio when listening to the INDY 500. Labor Day weekend at Flemington, a long way from home. Wow! No sleeper or box trailer. Love the tires stacked, just a neat shot. |

03.30.13 | 3-Wide | The thing about JC Agajanian that I remember is that he always wore a hat. I remember that my dad would always point him out to me whenever we were at a race and could see the pits and for as long as I can remember he was the car owner for Parnelli Jones. Didn't know that JC ever was at Flemington, and I don't know who was driving for him back in those days unless maybe he drove prior to becoming an owner? |

In J. C. Agajanian's bio, the story is told that J.C. bought his first cowboy hat, while promoting a race in Arizona, to protect his head and face from the brutal heat and sun during the event. All of his trademark hats and cowboy boots came from Spain. George Jr. - Frederick, MD |

To a young boy growing up in the 50's and 60's, JC Agajanian and Parnelli Jones were my heroes and also were the inspiration for the many models and slot cars that my friends and I raced. Thanks for posting Russ. |
