This Curley photo captures the moment at Langhorne Speedway. The feature cars are backed into their pit stalls in front of the stone wall on the home stretch. Wally Dallenbach leans against the Dick Barney 14 he will be driving. Tommie Elliott relaxes as looks down towards the cars placed in order. Two great modified drivers talking but I wonder if they are really listening to what the other is saying. My guess is maybe Wally's mind is on the start of the race which is approaching and Tommie perhaps about being a spectator, knowing he could win the feature with a good ride! Just a hunch. |

What a great shot. It really captures the moment leading up to the biggest race for the Modifieds. Just up the row is the #81 Studebaker of Denzil “Putt” Dillman of Highland, Md. and next to him is the red #10 coupe of Neil Haight. Neil would go on to finish 5th in this race. |
