Comments: | Comment from Ray Lemasters: This was taken in May 1970 at Nazareth. Paul "Sandy" Rochelle, right, is chatting with Lloyd Henderson of Hackettstown, NJ. Lloyd operated Henderson's American and was a supporter of Sandy's. Sandy did some of the work on his cars there where he built a home made 2 x 4 frame that was used under one of the Kozimor 37-J coupes. Story from John Kozimor goes that Flemington wouldn't pass it so John or Sandy cut the part number out of a wrecked Chevy frame, welded it to the home-made and got it through inspection as a "modified" Chevy frame. Sandy also experimented with quarter eliptic front springs on that frame. I saw him fitting those springs up at Lloyd's station. |

Must've been a rare occasion, because he isn't laughing and don't have a beer in his hand... |
09.08.12 | 3-Wide | Doubt anybody would have a beer in their hand on the frontstretch before a race... a beer in victory lane after the races, well, that's totally different. |
