Here's one of the earliest photos of Stan Ploski behind the wheel of
the Ken Brenn Sr. owned #24 coupe. This is a former Budd Olsen car
that Ken bought from Budd when Mr. Brenn decided to go stock car racing.
Having owned open wheel cars for years, he decided to move to stock cars at
the end of the '71 season in preparation for his son Ken Brenn Jr to begin
his racing career at Flemington in the Rookie Sportsman Division. Stan jumped into this car near the end of the 1971 season and immediately began winning. The following year, the car had a small block under the hood and was repainted what would become a familiar Brenn yellow with red #'s. Young Kenny would go on to win the Rookie Championship in 1972 while Stan stayed on with the team and got behind the wheel of a Floyd Trevis built modified with a similar yellow paint job and red #24 numbers and would be a dominate force in the 1972 Modified ranks at Flemington and East Windsor. |

This car is yet another reason why the 1937 Chevy coupe
is my car of choice for a modified. Just a stunning piece of work.....I
think by Budd Olsen. |
