I could wrong but this hot rod looks a lot like a former Gil Hearne's # 2 coupe. When Gil first hooked up with Tom Durkin, he ran a # 2 coupe on dirt and a # 9 coupe on asphalt, both painted red and gold.  Hopefully, one of you 3Widers can back me up on this, or prove that my memory is shot.  Either way, love the Lemaster photos along with the rest that are posted.

06.30.20 3Wide Sure looks like it... different color, but same look.... same gold trim too.  I believe Gil not only drove the #9 and the #12, but he also built them.

The blue and gold #2 and the red and gold #9 were both newly constructed  by Gil over the winter of 70/71 for the 1971 season.  I vaguely recall Gil running at Harmony in early 1971 during Tri State era.  He may have even had both of the new cars at Harmony one Saturday night before Wall Stadium opened for the year.
