| Comments: | Comments provided by Wayne: I took this photo, I think in August 1979, Doug's last year at Dorney Park. He was in a dogfight for the Late Model points title, which he eventually won. His '55 Chevy was numbered "60 over," a reference to the maximum overbore a 307 Chevy engine could take and stay within the 318 cubic inch limit for racers at Dorney. I think it was 1977 when he got caught with an oversized engine, and when he came back, his cars were numbered "60 over." Doug drove like Earnhart on the tiny Dorney Park oval--just look at those front rub bars! |

| 1/11/09 | Henry Schaadt | I remember in the 70's when 'ol Chet Crane from up past Bangor, PA was the engine inspector at DP. He also had a race car but I don't think he drove it. Anyway... you will never guess who's car had an illegal motor. :):):):):):) |
