Comments: The #143 pictured above has quite a history.  This is the car that Fritz Epright won quite a few races in the late 80's at Flemington... at that time, it the white #704, owned by Trenton Mack.  The car was then sold to Sportsman racer Tony Leonard who was going to race the car in what we think would have been the 1991 season when sadly, Tony lost his life in a motorcycle accident.

From what I understand, the car was stored for quite a few years and was then sold to Fritz Epright.  Although 10+ years older than the cars it would compete against, Fritz ran the car in the modified class at New Egypt and after a few weeks, was able to qualify with the car.

The photo above was from a jarring crash along the frontstretch and resulted in quite a bit of damage to the #143.  I thought that this was the last ride of the "#704", but I've been told that the car was repaired and renumbered as the #1 and driven once again.

I spoke to Fritz in 2011 and asked him about all the cars that he had driven and he said that the Trenton Mack #704 was his favorite...  Unfortunately, the car was scraped and Fritz and many others wish this one was still around....
