Comments: | One very scary moment for independent modified racer Bob Barone as he sails through the air upside down between turns 1 & 2 at Flemington Speedway. Bob would come back to race another day, and knowing Bob and his tremendous fabrication skills, I'm pretty sure that he would return in this very same car. Bob builds a safe car, but even so, it's always scary when the driver moves around inside the car and we're all glad that Bob was able to get out of this one... and come back and race another day. |

03.19.12 | Jack Kromer | Dave, that is one wild shot, capturing the peak action moment. |
03.24.12 | George Pavlisko | This would be the COVER SHOT for the Hans Device and why the drivers need them. Shows the movement of the head, how the belts DO STRETCH, and WHY you pad the bars. Turns one and two put Flemington or as printed once Flippington up with NASA as far as launches in that time. |
03.27.12 | Bob Barone | Joe---great shot. Well, it would be convenient to say someone got into me but if we're calling it straight, I did this one on my own. Got a little impatient and made a bad judgment call. Nothing hurt but my pride. Thanks again....Bob |

It looks like an inner tube on the rear tire, was this a common practice then and maybe even today?? |
10.25.12 | 3Wide | Good catch there Kevin. Not sure about back in the day, but today, they don't run tubes. |
