Comments: | Comment: Looks like Bobby rode out a rough one here as fellow drivers and folks from the rescue team come to Bob's aid. (Not sure of all of the other folks in this picture, but it looks like the #168 of Pat Wolgemuth is one of the cars that had stopped to help out. |

12.31.12 | Bill Skinner | I would venture a guess this accident occurred on 6/22/1957 when Bob hit the fence on the sixth lap of the feature and ''rolled over three times wrecking his car completely. He was in second place at the time." Bob won the rookie feature his first time out in 1957, and then he immediately began racing with the sportsmen. He finished fifth in Flemington Sportsmen Points in 1957 behind Jim Metzler, Pat Wohlgemuth, Vince Conrad, and Bob Wiesemeyer who were all more experienced than Bob was. |
