Victory Lane celebrations of donuts and fence climbing and of course the mandatory hat
change and numerous necessary sponsor mentions, there is something so pure about this shot
captured by Bruce Barmore that to me just says "Respect." Respect from Al Michalchuk to Tas for all of the great things that he had accomplished during his outstanding career, and respect from Tas to Al in recognizing in almost a "Warrior to Warrior" way, the drive and determination that made Michalchuk so exciting to watch, and who on occassion found Victory Lane and the respect that was waiting to be found there. |

FROM THE BACK OF THE PACK LIKE AL. I SPENT MANY OF YEARS WORKING WITH KATONA AND THE
FIRST QUESTION BEFORE GOING OUT FOR THE FEATURE WAS, "WHERE IS AL STARTING?"
(ESPECIALLY AT THE SQUARE) THE REASON BEING HE DIDNT WANT TO BE IN THE SAME PATH AS AL. THE MAN ON A MISSION. DONT GET ME WRONG, WE WERE ALSO RUNNING FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP ALONG WITH COUNTING POINTS SO WE WERE VERY CAUTIOUS ON GETTING TO THE FRONT |
