Many are aware of the accomplishments that NJ racer Wally Dallenbach acheived including his years in Indy Cars including a victory at a 500 mile event in Ontario, Ca along with his years as an official with CART. The llittle guy standing next to Wally is one of the guys behind the scene here at the Vault who can always be counted on to lend a hand at our gatherings - Ned Stites III. |

SUPER TEAM ! Wally could get around any traffic with a sooth effortless like style. Although primarily an asphalt racer he could run with the best of them on dirt as well. As far as Dick Barney and his 14's, I'll not be surprised if his cars have won more features that any other car owner here in New Jersey. I think this photograph is from 1963 Wally's last year as a full time Modified driver. In 1964 he would spend most of his time in Sprints and Midgets. The 14 in the background was later christened "The Ghost" after a wreck in Vineland it was in flat white primer. Ned, was anybody really that young? |
