I remember Shampine as a regular sprint car competitor at the Grove for a couple of seasons.  I don't remember him having near the success on dirt that he had on the blacktop.  But he was one great race driver.

This is his first radically offset Super, the one with the engine completely outside the frame rails. It is currently being restored just outside Syracuse.
