Comments: Comment:  I try not to read into photos too much but some photos make it impossible not to....  After seeing so many photos of Al, always with his charismatic smile, whether next to the 707.... or next to the #39... or next to friends in a casual or even formal setting... that smile was always there.

Looking at this photo, and looking at the date which we believe to be 1972... and looking at the expressing on the face of what all consider to be one of (if not possibly the best of all time) you have to wonder if this is a glimpse at what Al was feeling on the inside at this time in his career...  Frustrated by the lack of recent results over the past few seasons.... Frustrated with the inconsistency of rides... Frustrated by the what was versus what had become....

The top rides never did come along the way they had in years past, and neither did the results as the 70's rolled on... '71... '72... And I can only hope that as time passed, that at some point Al would know that it wouldn't be this brief window of time that would define who he was to all of us....  It would be the ride that Al Tasnady, or more appropriate just "Tas" took everyone on through the 50's and the 60's that we will always remember and will always be grateful for.
