Kevin Eyres had the restored #126 on hand - It's a 1983 Olsen Eagle that was owned by Glenn Hyneman and driven by Craig Von Dohren

Rookie racer Bill Lester gave himself and his kids something to smile about with his first Rookie Feature event win

...They were trying to figure technical stuff out in PJ Oliver's pit, like you know.... carburetor stuff... engine timing... and how many licks does it take to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop!

Outlaw Stock driver Dan "The Man" Collamar was driving like Vault Favorite "Stan the Man"... Almost never lifted, and cranked way sideways in the turns... Way cool.

Here's the rest of Dan's car... Dan's from Waretown, NJ and his his dad (blue shirt) raced Garvey's a few years back....  (For those not from the area, Garvey's are boats that race down in Barnegat Bay)... Way cool too!

Sportsman driver Dave Hunt and his team go through the #27 from top to bottom, front to back after qualifying in the 1st Sportsman heat.

Great addition to the Sportsman ranks this year at New Egypt is Bob Lineman Jr.  Bob drives the USA #1...

...as did his dad!   (1975 - Flemington - Wayne Bechtel Photo)

After winning Modified Heat #1, Rick Laubach (blue and yellow uniform) keeps a close eye on the track... and the competition.

Winner of modified heat #2, Mike Barone heads over to the fuel truck to get his #267 a drink...

In only a few week's of modified competition at New Egypt, Mike's already gettin' it done!

Winner of modified heat #3, young Frank Cozze Jr starts preparing for the night's feature event...

...and so does his dad.

... Lots of stuff to do between qualifying heats and feature event time...

Tough break for the always hard charging veteran racer Tom Carberry Sr, as the #23 came in pretty twisted up after a heat race incident...

...Been watching Tom go left for quite a few years in the familiar #23....  Here's Tom at Flemington in this 1982 Ace Lane Jr photo.

Tad Cox and crew do some "figurin' " prior to the feature event...

Crew Chief Dave Seip and Driver Mike Lyons do a fuel pump change prior to the start of the Sportsman Feature.

John Burnett, Earl Krause and Ace Lane Jr....
Just imagine... for a minute...  Really, stop and think... and just imagine for a minute... the amount of racing memories these 3 have witnessed... Amazing.

...They're always doing something in the Laubach pit...  And the results show it!

Saturday Night Live...

If anyone has a spare rabbit's foot or 4 leaf clover, stop by Team #18...  Early night for Tim Tanner as he heads home after the motor let go while leading his heat.

Modified racer Cory Andersen is off to a good start in only his first year of Modified action.

There's work to be done in Tommy Carberry Jr's pit after being named the Fan's Provisional...

Swirls... and Sticka's... With a sunset sky as the backdrop, D.J. Ruppert heads out with his "Green Flamed" #90, with a "sticka tire" on the right rear...

70's racing fan and photographer, Wayne Bechtel decided to go racing in 2008 and is leaving the dream that many of us have...

Kyle Borror and his #B4 "before" the feature...

Mark Yaple set's the torque wrench, getting ready to put the final touches on the Burket's Building & Grounds Maintenance #99 driven by son Randy Yaple

Randy looks over the notes before heading out... (Must'a worked as Randy would end up with a top 3 finish in the Sportsman Feature.)

Partially "Topless"... With the sail panels removed, you can really see the inner wedge shape that's hiding under the wide bodies of today...

In the Mike McAleer pit, it was the same color red on the outside, but no blue oval under the hood this week as Mike was wheelin' the #87 while the #6 was on the mend.

David Van Horn is a great addition to this year's Modified field at New Egypt...

...and when it came to lettering the #71, David knew just who to call:

...Not sure what Danny said to Clay, so I'll just leave the caption to this one up to you and your imagination!

What do all these people have in common?  They all know how to set their TIVO's and DVR's... and they all know that the only place for a real race fan to be on a Saturday Night is at their local speedway.

Possibly one of the best Sportsman Features of all time... Dave Hunt shakes hands with Rocco Infante after the 2 battled side by side for the entire race...

Rocco Infante in victory lane with the Moslowski Bros, CraddleRock Developer's sponsored  #JR1after making the winning pass over Dave Hunt with just 2 to go...

...Speaking of two to go... Johnny Guarino (inside) and Rick Laubach (outside) receive the "2 to Go" sign from above. The Transponder said the #20 had the #9 by .005 as they crossed the line... With the yellow coming out before the next lap was completed, Laubach got to line up the #20 at the front for the final restart.

It was all smiles for Rick Laubach as he went on for the win over a strong running Johnny Guarino...

... and now you know why they race.

Happy Birthday to Rick's mom as "The Laubach's" join Rick in Victory Lane...

Great to see first time winner Scott Dugan in victory lane after winning his first Outlaw Stock Feature ever at New Egypt Speedway

...But the best thing about Victory Lane this week was seeing the best racing photographer of all time, Ace Lane Jr peering through the viewfinder once again...

Ace looks on as the vintage "Keystone Pretzel #126" heads out after a fantastic night at the races.  "It Ain't a Race Without Ace..."
